Welcome to Pyongyang University of Science and Technology’s Division of Medical Sciences, which will include schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Public Health and Nursing.
The Groundbreaking ceremony for the new Medical Sciences building, signaling the first milestone of this ambitious project, took place on the campus of the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology in May 2014. Although it will be some time before this building is completed, we opened the School of Dentistry in October 2015 and are planning towards the School of Public Health commencing its first course during 2016.
Our first five students are postgraduates, and we aim to help them develop their theoretical, practical and clinical training by offering both short courses and Masters degrees. Our teaching staff is international, and draws from a range of professions, including many with specialist expertise and recognized as leading authorities in their fields. We plan to build up, over time, our own research capability to fulfill our vision that the Division of Medical Sciences will become widely recognized for developing innovative and sustainable solutions to local health problems.
Our mission is to equip our students with knowledge and skills to improve healthcare practice, which in turn will lead to a better understanding, treatment and prevention of disease for the benefit of the people of the DPRK.
