Faculty Openings for Fall Semester 2020

Semester runs from beginning September to mid December 2020.

Faculty should come to PUST for a minimum of about 4 weeks (for one standard course in Major departments) unless stated otherwise or specially agreed. For English teachers, whole semester is required.

These are not paid positions, but accommodation and meals are provided.

For the College of Medicine: faculty should have appropriate professional qualifications and teaching/clinical experience. Those teaching part of a single course should be on campus for two weeks; teaching a whole course, for four to six weeks. Some courses last the whole semester but can be shared.

For the College of Engineering: faculty should have a relevant doctoral or Masters degree and teaching experience. Courses usually last a minimum of four weeks (one standard course) and can be delivered at any time during the semester. Remote teaching via video link can also be considered.

For Undergraduate courses in Medicine or other sciences:

FOREIGN LANGUAGES SCHOOL

For courses in English language for Undergraduates:

For the Foreign Languages School: teachers should have a Masters or Bachelor degree with minimum of one year relevant classroom teaching experience. For English language, CELTA or equivalent certification is preferred.

Language teachers normally teach for the full semester (3 September to 11 December).


GENERAL CONDITIONS AND APPLICATION

These are not paid positions, but accommodation and meals are provided. Volunteers are normally expected to have their own source of support for travel to/from Pyongyang and incidental and other expenses.
