If you are thinking of teaching at PUST, even for short term, then you might be eligible for EU funding.
PUST is the local DPRK partner in three EU-funded Erasmus projects, for academic exchanges. The projects fund students from PUST, or other DPRK universities, to go to partner universities in the EU.
The projects also offer grants for people to come from Europe to PUST. The requirements are that the grantee is an EU citizen and is registered as a student, or is a faculty member, of any recognized university in the EU.
Since PUST does not accept non-DPRK people as students, these Erasmus funds can only be used by people coming to PUST as faculty: typically, someone with at least a Masters and more-usually a PhD. (Some joint research with PUST might be possible.) The time at PUST can vary from one month up to two semesters, depending on circumstances. The grants available are sufficient to cover all normal costs, for both travel and living expenses. The dates for the ‘mobility’ and the work plan have to be agreed in advance with PUST and accepted by the Erasmus project managers.

Deadlines for applications are normally in the Spring of each year, but feel free to contact us at info@pust.co or contact the project managers at any time for more details.
